SYDNEY HARPER is the owner and lead instructor of Harper Arts, a private performing arts coaching business based in Denver and is a mama to her two wonderful daughters, Cecily and Penny Lane. She is a seasoned performer, director and instructor. Harper Arts was officially founded in 2018, however, Sydney began teaching private piano and voice lessons while in college in 2001. Mrs. Harper spent 17 years teaching in the classroom to students Pre K through high school and taught subjects in all disciplines including music, drama, Spanish and social studies.
She has soloed with esteemed organizations such as the Colorado Symphony, the Denver Philharmonic and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra. Recent credits include the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra Holiday Celebration, Aretha: A Tribute (CSO at Red Rocks Amphetheater, Greeley Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Colorado Springs Philharmonic), Music of Selena (CSO), Seó na Nollag: A Celtic Christmas Celebration (Irish Dance Theatre), Shuffle with Scott O’Neil and The Rosetta Music Society, Seussical at Stapleton on the Green (Mayzie La Bird/Music Director), Broadway Sings! with the Highlands Ranch Community Association, the Colorado Symphony 25th Anniversary Gala and Biennial of the Americas, Denver Night (Tragedy on the Sea Nymph, Liliana Porter) and Holiday Cheer! with the Denver Philharmonic. CSO appearances: Shuffle, Shuffle II, A Colorado Christmas (2009), Giya Kinchelli’s composition “STYX” (2008, North American Premier), and Lord of the Rings Symphony (2006).
Sydney holds a BFA in Music Theatre, a BA in Spanish Translation and Interpretation from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a MA in International Studies from the University of Denver’s Korbel School of International Studies.
Harper has been directing professional and amateur children’s theatre for 15 years and has a private studio of over 70 students.
