Pricing & Policies

Tuition:

Harper Arts enrolls for full terms (Fall, Spring and Summer) only. There is no per lesson price and the monthly tuition reflects the divided cost for the total number of lessons over the full term, not that particular month.

Harper Arts tuition will be as follows for Fall of 2023

  • The monthly rate for single slot weekly lessons remains at $155 (55 minute lessons are $290/month). The payment schedule and term lengths remain
    • Fall term will include 4 monthly payments (or 1 lump sum of $600 with discount) and encompasses 15 weeks of lessons (August 21 – December 15)  and the Winter Recitall on December 17!
    • The annual $10/student supplies and resources fee does not increase and will be assessed on the September invoice. This fee covers the use of the Tonara app, mymusicstaff.com and the other wonderful resources used to make each lesson unique for your students. Books are additional at minimal cost as students progress.
    • SIBLING DISCOUNT CHANGE: All families with multiple students will receive a $10 off per FAMILY for lessons. This discount also applies to students who participate in 55 minute sessions. The monthly tuition for 55 minute lessons comes to $300.
    • There will be a $5 late fee for each week that tuition is not received. If payment is not received by the third week of the month, lessons will be temporarily suspended until all charges and fees are resolved.
    • These prices will remain in place for a minimum of 2 years. Harper Arts last raised tuition in August of 2022.

NOTE: The prices and discounts above apply to students attending weekly lessons for a full term. Stand alone/ a la carte lessons and coaching sessions are still available (schedule permitting) for $40/25 minute session and $80/55 minute session.

Absence Policy:

Harper Arts does not offer make-up lessons. We understand that emergencies happen and we want to make sure that students get the most for their money and the best opportunities to learn. If a student is unable to attend a lesson for any reason (illness, out of town, etc.) but is still well enough/available to play, a virtual lesson will be available during their regular lesson time via zoom. If a student is unable to attend a virtual lesson, a mini-recorded lesson will be provided in the Tonara app by request. If neither is requested, the lesson will be skipped with no make-up option.

Virtual lessons or recorded lessons must be requested PRIOR TO THE LESSON TIME (i.e. no show lessons will not receive a recording or virtual opportunity). The recordings will be created by the teacher during the normal lesson time so requests beyond those hours cannot be accommodated. Please inform the teacher of your preference (skip the lesson – no makeup, virtual, recording) at the time of your initial communication about missing a lesson (i.e. We will be out of town on Monday, 9/5, we won’t have the opportunity to zoom or do the video this week so we’ll see you next time! OR We will be gone this week, we’d love a video…OR We’re out of town but we brought the Guitar! Can you please send us a zoom link?).

In the event of a teacher cancellation (emergencies only) the teacher will provide a mini-recorded lesson in the app by the end of the week for the student to complete at their convenience.

Ben Franklin Academy:

In the event of school closures, delays or quarantines due to weather, building issues, COVID- 19, etc. a recorded lesson will be provided for students who’s lessons are missed. Lessons and assignments will be loaded into Tonara by the end of the school day (unless otherwise informed by the teacher). Zoom lessons are not available on school closure or delay days.

If a special activity is happening during a lesson time, Harper Arts will make every effort to provide a lesson. If the student or parent does not wish for the student to miss the school activity, the lesson will be skipped and a recorded lesson will be provided (upon request). If a student has a planned absence, it may be possible to switch times with another student. Notice is needed no later than 6PM on Monday the week of the planned absence. The teacher will always inform parents of any switches in the in school, Harper Arts schedule and will take school activities and schedules into account with every change and shuffle. 🙂

By providing payment for your lessons you agree to the above policies and procedures. Thank you for choosing Harper Arts!
